The living area is compact and merges into
the kitchen and breakfast area.
Planning required a variety of design
strategies to unify the space and still
allow these areas to subtly stand apart.
Some of the solutions required custom wood
floors, lighting upgrades and wall colors
for each area create interest. |

In this compact plan, the dining, entry, and
living areas merge together. Color
palettes, carpets and hardwood furniture
items were carefully selected to provide
continuity, but with subtle design
selections to define each area. |

A warm yellow wall and carpet palette sets
up the darker flannel and velvet tones in
the room. Attention to height with the
canopy bed, tall drapery and the custom
fireplace stretch the height of the space,
expanding the room. |
